Queen Mary's Fringe was created in 1919 as a modern version of the Hanoverian Fringe Tiara owned by Queen Adelaide.

The Oriental Circlet Tiara was designed by Prince Albert for Queen Victoria in 1853. The tiara featured lotus flowers within seventeen mughal arches set in 2,600 diamonds and originally contained opals, one of Prince Albert’s favourite stones.
However, the current design was replaced with rubies and the mughal arches were reduced to eleven.

The York Diamond was created as a wedding gift from the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh for Sarah Ferguson when she married Prince Andrew and became the Duchess of York in 1986. The Duchess of York retained the tiara even after their divorce in 1996.
