Christmas at Sirius' family home

The tarnished chandeliers were no longer hung with

cobwebs but with garlands of holly and gold and silver streamers; magical snow glittered in heaps over the threadbare carpets; a great Christmas tree

(obtained by Mundungus) and decorated with live fairies; and even the stuffed elf-heads on the hall wall wore Father Christmas hats and beards.

From Hermione: a book that resembled a diary except that everytime he opened a page it said aloud things like: "Do it today or later you'll pay!"

From Sirius and Lupin: a set of excelpent books entitled 'Practical Defensive Magic and its Use Against the Dark Arts' (which had superb,

moving colour illustrations of all the counter-jinxes and hexes it described.

From Hagrid: a furry brown wallet that had fangs (which were presumably supposed to be an anti- theft device, but unfortunately prevented Harry putting any money in without getting his fingers ripped off.

From Tonks: a small, working model of a Firebolt.

From Ron: an enormous box of Every-Flavour Beans. 

From Mr and Mrs Weasley: the usual hand-knitted jumper and some mince pies.

From Dobby: a painting of Harry done by the elf himself.

Classroom Eleven

On the ground floor along the corridor leading off

the Entrance Hall from the opposite side to the Great Hall. 

As you enter, you find yourself in the middle of a forest clearing. The classroom floor had become springily mossy and trees were growing out of it; their leafy branches fanned across the ceiling and windows, so that the room was full of slanting shafts of soft, dappled, green light.

In the middle of the clearing, where there were no trees, stood Firenze.

The Prophecy

The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches… born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies … and

the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not … and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives.

This means that the person who has the only chance of conquering Lord Voldemort for good was born at the end of July, nearly sixteen years ago. This boy would be born to parents who had already defied

Voldemort three times.

Mrs Figg (the old neighbour living near the Dursleys who used to babysit him) is a Squib and Dumbledore asked her to keep an eye on him.

It was Dolores Umbridge who sent the Dementors to Harry.

Sirius Black dies.

Number Four, Privet Drive:

The bond of blood, the strongest shield.

While you can still call home the place where your mother's blood dwells, there you cannot be touched or harmed by Voldemort. He shed her blood, but it lives on in you and her sister. Her blood became your refuge. You need return there only once a year, but as long as you can still call it home, whilst you are there he cannot hurt you.
