Kings of Gondor

1) Elendil (SA 3320 - SA 3441): son of Amandil (Lord of Anduie).

Founder of Arnor and Gondor.

2) Isildur (SA 3441 - TA 2): son of Elendil.

3) Meneldil (TA 2 - TA 158): nephew of Isildur from his younger brother, Anarion, who was slain in battle. (Valandil; Isildur's youngest and only surviving son never claimed the title and instead ruled as King of Arnor).

4) Cemendur (TA 158 - TA 238): son of Meneldil.

5) Eärendil (TA 238 - TA 324): son of Cemendur.

6) Anardil (TA 324 - TA 411): son of Eärendil.

7) Ostoher (TA 411 - TA 492): son of Anardil. 

8) Tarostar, later renamed as Rómendacil I (TA 492 - TA 541): son of Ostoher. The office of the Steward of Gondor was created during his reign.

9) Turambar (TA 541 - TA 667): son of Rómendacil I. 

10) Atanatar I (TA 667 - TA 748): son of Turambar.

11) Siriondil (TA 748 - TA 830): son of Atanatar I.

12) Tarannon, with the regnant name of Falastur (TA 830 - TA 913): son of Siriondil; brother of Tarciryan. Falastur died childless.

13) Eärnil I (TA 913 - TA 936): nephew of Falastur; son of Tarciryan.

14) Ciryandil (TA 936 - TA 1015): son of Eärnil I.

15) Ciryaher, also known as Hyarmendcail 1 (TA 1015 - TA 1149): son of Ciryandil.

16) Atanatar II (TA 1149 - TA 1226): son of Hyarmendcail I.

17) Narmacil I (TA 1226 - TA 1294): son of Atanatar II. Narmacil died childless.

18) Calmacil (TA 1294 - 1304): brother of Narmacil I.

19) Minalcar, known as Rómendacil II (TA 1304 - TA 1366): son of Calmacil; nephew of Narmacil I. Previously Regent of Gondor (TA 1240 - TA 1304).

20) Valacar (TA1304 - TA 1432): son of Rómendacil II.

21) Eldacar, born as Vinitharya (TA 1432 - TA 1437) and (TA 1447 - TA 1490): son of Valacar.

22) Castamir the Usurper, (usurped the throne from Eldacar between TA 1437 - TA 1447 until Eldacar slew Castamir in battle and regained power).

23) Aldamir (TA 1490 - TA 1540): second son of Eldacar.

24) Vinyarion, known as Hyarmendacil II (TA 1540 - TA 1621): son of Aldamir.

25)  Minardil (TA 1621 - TA 1634): son of Hyarmendacil II.

26) Telemnar (TA 1634 - TA 1636): son of Minardil. King Telemnar and his immediate family died in the Great Plague.

27) Tarondor (TA 1636 - TA 1798): nephew of Telemnar; son of Minastan (Telemnar's younger brother).

28) Telumehtar, also known as Telumehtar Umbardacil (TA 1798 - TA 1850): son of Tarondor.

29) Narmacil II (TA 1850 - TA 1856): son of Telumehtar.

30) Calimehtar (TA 1856 - TA 1936): son of Narmacil II.

31) Ondoher (TA 1936 - TA 1944): son of Calimehtar. Both of Ondoher's heirs were slain in battle together with their father.

32) Eärnil II (TA 1945 - TA 2043): the throne was granted to general Eärnil of the House of Anarion by Steward Pelendur because the crown and royalty of Gondor belongs solely to the heirs of Meneldil, son of Anarion.

33) Eärnur (TA 2043 - TA 2050): son of Eärnil II.

Eärnur answered and accepted the second challenge by the Witch-king of Angmar. After entering the gates of Minas Morgul, he was never seen or heard from again.

The Line of Anarion was broken after Eärnur's disappearance and the Stewards of Gondor ruled in his name "until the king returns" for it was not known whether Eärnur had been killed duelling the Witch-king or not and Eärnur had also left without naming an heir. 

The Stewards of Gondor ended up ruling for many generations.
