  1. Am listening to the audiobook of this classic, and - living in London, I wonder if the East Acton Rifle Volunteers are still going.
    What a feast the Drill Hall Ball was - and despite eatables and drinkables not included - there were some details given re: pigeon pie, ices, champagne, claret, and “suppers”.
    Hopefully comments made on this post 5 years on still count.
